No. 4 Denver got four goals from sophomore Tristan Broz, including the final three of the game, and Magnus Chrona made 20 saves as the Pioneers routed Miami, 7-0, for the second consecutive night at Magness Arena on Saturday.

Just as the Pioneers (19-5, 10-2 NCHC) did Friday, they blew the game open in the second period on Saturday as Broz, Rieger Lorenz, Sean Behrens and Casey Dornbach scored goals. Dornbach’s came on the power play, as did two of Broz’s three in the third period.

Not only did Chrona post his second shutout in a row, but DU had players net hat tricks two games in a row. Carter King accomplished the feat on Friday.

Broz went from five to nine goals in one night, and Dornbach’s was his 11th of the season, putting him second on the team in that category. His 26 points are second to Massimo Rizzo’s 32. Rizzo picked up an assist to extend his point streak to 11 games, and freshman center Aidan Thompson had three assists and now has 16 points in 16 games.
