2023-24 Denver Hockey Schedule

Oct. 7-8: at Alaska Fairbanks

Note: Beware of the defensive-minded Polar Bears. The Nanooks split a series at Magness last season.

Oct. 20: at Providence

Note: This weekend trip East served as a wake-up call for the Pioneers two years ago, and we know how that season ended up.

Oct. 21: at Boston College

Oct. 27: vs. Augustana

Note: This will be the Pioneers’ first meeting with the new Division I program.

Oct. 28: vs. Air Force

Note: The teams haven’t played for two seasons, but DU won 8-0 the previous time they met at Magness Arena.

Nov. 3: at Colorado College*

Note: DU won 12 in a row vs. the Tigers until CC pulled of a 1-0 upset in the NCHC semifinals, an outcome that foreshadowed DU’s quick NCAA exit.

Nov. 4: vs. Colorado College*

Nov. 10-11: at Arizona State

Note: The Pioneers pay their first visit to ASU’s new Mullet Arena.

Nov. 17-18: vs. Omaha*

Note: The teams split their only series last season, which came at Magness.

Nov. 24-25: vs. Yale

Note: Besides the fact this guest would appall Thurston Howell III of Gilligan’s Island fame, it’s the teams’ first meeting since 2012.

Dec. 1-2: vs. North Dakota*

Note: The Pioneers swept the Fighting Hawks at altitude last season.

Dec. 8-9: at Western Michigan*

Note: One DU’s most impressive weekends in 2022-23 came at Kalamazoo.

Dec. 30: vs. Minot State (exhibition)

Note: Last season, DU hosted ACHA power UNLV, which might be headed to Division I at some point. This season brings the two-time ACHA champion Beavers to town.

Jan. 5-6: vs. Niagara

Note: The Purple Eagles reached the Atlantic Hockey semifinals in March, falling to Canisius, which earned the league’s NCAA berth.

Jan. 12-13: vs. St. Cloud State*

Note: The teams split their series at Magness Arena last season.

Jan. 19-20: at Omaha*

Note: The Mavericks were 11-8-2 at home in 2022-23.

Jan. 26-27: at North Dakota*

Note: DU swept a series at Grand Forks last season for the first time since 2010.

Feb. 2-3: vs. Western Michigan*

Note: Finally, the Broncos will return to Denver … for a hockey series.

Feb. 16-17: at Minnesota Duluth*

Note: This is the only series of the season between the teams, who split four games in 2022-23.

Feb. 23-24: vs. Miami*

Note: This is also the only series of the season between the teams. DU won all six meeting a season ago.
