Junior defenseman Tariq Hammond, who suffered a dislocated ankle in Saturday’s 3-2 victory over Minnesota-Duluth that gave Denver its eighth national title, spoke to the media on Tuesday before a celebration at Magness Arena for the team.

He addressed his upcoming surgery (it could be as soon as Friday), his recovery time, how he was able to come back to the ice on Saturday night and the possibility of him being DU’s captain next season.
